Zackie was adopted Tuesday, July 23, 2024!
In February 2024, someone admitted little Zackie to Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino, California. The shelter staff immediately determined this sweet 11-week-old gray tabby was sick with a kitty cold. As soon as they released him from his mandatory 5-day intake hold (in the event he belonged to someone and they came to claim him), they doomed him to the euthanasia list, giving rescuers very little time to develop a rescue plan to ensure his safety. But, just in the nick of time, the Kitty Devore Rescue arrived just in the nick of time for Zackie.
He recuperated from his cold with his first foster momma in California. When he was hale and healthy, he traveled with our transporter to meet his long-term foster mom in Seattle. When his personality emerged, Zackie exhibited a delightful balance of zoomie kitten energy with the serenity of a Zen monk. He knows there’s a time for play and a time for peace. Despite the sketchiness of his first three months, this sweet little guy loves to cuddle and seeks affection whenever and wherever with whomever he can get it! Zackie will even let you carry him around like the big baby boy he is. He’s inquisitive, curious about what you’re doing, and always interested in investigating, lending a helping paw if he can. He also adores playing with wand toys and springs and having a great time roughhousing with his foster sibling kitties. He’s happy, healthy, and growing, as his hearty appetite will attest!

Note: Although most of our foster kitties are in Southern California, Zackie is one of our special Seattle babies and is only available for adoption to Washington residents.
