Sundae and her daughter, Ambrosia, were adopted together on Sunday, February 11, 2024!
Meet Sundae, a beautiful, petite lynx point Siamese mix. In September 2022, while living in an outdoor feral colony, she gave birth to 4 kittens. The colony caretakers noticed she was very young and friendly, and wanting the best for her, they asked for help. Kitty Devore Rescue stepped up to the plate, securing a foster home for all of them. In the safety of foster care, the little family thrived. Sundae was an excellent mama, and all her babies – Truffle, Ambrosia, Churro, and Tiramisu – grew up healthy and happy – and now it’s time for her to have her own happily ever after with a forever family.
We approximate that Sundae was born in December 2021, but she maintains the enthusiasm of a kitten. Her piercing blue eyes cross slightly, an endearing trait for which Siamese cats are known, but her sight is perfect. She prowls on the hunt for toy mice, and if there’s a big box filled with packing paper, watch out! She’ll roll and revel in it, entertaining herself for hours. Running up and down the cat tree with the zoomies, swatting at toy balls, and exercising her hand-eye coordination with the interactive round ball tower bring Sundae tremendous joy. Catnip? Oh, yes – please! Scatter it on the floor, and she’ll stretch lazily in the pile, getting it all over her body and face.
As playful as she is, Sundae can be shy and skittish sometimes, likely from her time on the streets. Once you earn her trust, she is a total love bug and will quickly become your best friend. She loves to cuddle on the couch, get pets and head scratches, and sometimes seek out your lap for nap time. She has the cutest, daintiest meow/chirp she does when she’s excited, especially when it’s time to eat! She also loves to spoon in bed, and when she’s feeling very loving, she’ll give kisses. It may take some time for her to warm up to you, but once it happens, the resulting love you’ll receive from her is worth it. With proper introductions, her foster mom feels she would do well with another kitty in the home, as she currently enjoys playing with her foster brothers. Her daughter, Ambrosia, and she are BFFs and would love a home together! She has not been in a house with children, so a home with older kids may be more appropriate, given her shy nature.
