Primrose was adopted May 27, 2023!
When we rescue kitties from Devore Shelter, their past is often a mystery. Primrose, a stunning torbie beauty, was no exception. All we knew about her after she was admitted in July of 2020 was that she was a polydactyl (extra thumb on her paws), she was terrified, and she needed help. The shelter staff estimated her to be about a year old.
Initially, she held herself in a ball and barely moved. She allowed herself to be held, though, and, when picked up, she would cuddle closer, showing she was extremely receptive to being loved and cared for. As the months passed in her foster home, she would snuggle even closer to her foster mom, and her interest in a steady flow of affection grew. Slowly, Primrose gained confidence, poised with her tail up, and she played. It took time and patience, but gradually she began to show us who she really was.
Primrose loves the sunny spot by the window. She’s happy to spend hours watching the birds flit about and the wind blowing through the trees. At times, her joy swells within her so entirely that she’ll roll about and, if your hand is within range, reach out to grab it, hugging it to her as if to say, “Thank you for making my world safe!” That’s not to say she doesn’t startle at loud noises and flurries of activity in the house. But these things don’t keep her from experiencing the wonders that life has to offer her.
Primrose does have some unique specifications when it comes to the perfect adopter. She is partial to women so her ideal adopter would be a doting cat mom. While she has had experience being around other kitties, in her ideal home, she would be the only kitty nabbing all the attention and affection. Because a feeling of safety and security is paramount for her, she would feel most at ease in a quiet, low-key household without children under the age of 12.
Primrose, like the flower she’s named for, is a kitty who is bursting with life, beauty and brings a smile to the faces of all who have the great pleasure to know her. But only the most special person or people will be the ones to adopt her. Maybe that’s you? If so, fill out an adoption application for Primrose today!
