What’s the difference between a calico and a tortoiseshell? It’s a question we are often asked. First, almost all calicos and torties are female. The coloring between the two are similar and people often get them confused. A tortie has a blend of orange, black and brown coloring in her coat and a calico has these three colors plus white.
So let us present to you, Lexa – one of our very gorgeous calico girls! She’s so unique. It’s almost as if someone dipped their finger in orange paint and swiped it down the length of her adorable little nose. Lexa was estimated to be about 8 years old when she was rescued in 2017. But even though she’s considered a senior, she’s got many years left to offer a lot of love to someone special and who will treat her as the calico queen she is. Lexa is a little shy at first but warms up very quickly once she gets to know you. She’s discriminating, you see. She is comfortable around other kitties and doesn’t bat an eye around dogs. She would probably do best in a home with at least one other kitty or canine friend.
Lexa was adopted May 5, 2019!
