Janie was adopted April 11, 2021!
Young Janie is a spirited lass with a lustrous, soft, and silky long black coat. The shelter staff thought she had so much potential; she was held for much longer than usual for someone to come and save her. Kitty Devore Rescue came through and pulled her to safety in October 2020.
Being such a petite cat, the discovery that Janie was quite pregnant came as a shock. Two healthy kittens were delivered by C-section, despite being slightly premature. However, because Janie was unaware she was expecting and woke up from the anesthetic with two little mewing kittens with her, she was confused about where they came from and wasn’t sure what to do with them. It became clear they would need human intervention. Both were taken into bottle baby care in a different foster home within our rescue group. Both her daughters are thriving in California. Janie subsequently went on to be spayed and fully vetted before moving to Seattle to find her forever home.
Janie is younger than the shelter’s estimation of 2 1/2 years old at the time of her rescue and super lively, with tons of kitten-like energy. She likes to be petted on her terms and will flop over for more pets – but not on the tummy, thank you. There’s no pinning this girl down! Janie would do well with someone who is understanding of her need to kick up her independent heels while taking quick breaks for attention. She’s still working on gaining some weight but has a good appetite due to her active lifestyle. While she’s tolerant of other cats, she’d probably prefer to be your one and only.
Janie is an awesome cat who’ll grow into your purrfect furry companion. Fill out an adoption application to meet her soon!
