Jane Goodall was adopted Sunday, December 12, 2021!
Many of our foster parents who take feline families in need into their care choose name themes. When Momma Blanca and her five kittens were rescued from Devore Shelter in May of 2021, their foster mom named each kitty after a person she admired and who champions the welfare of animals: Momma Dian Fossey, Steve Irwin, Bindi Irwin, David Attenborough, Jane Goodall, and Ellen DeGeneres.
Jane was named in honor of the legendary Jane Goodall. Ms. Goodall’s work with chimpanzees enlightened the world that animals share bonds with one another and really do experience emotions similar to that of human beings. Our Jane‘s love for the world around her is contagious. She’s simply happy to be here, glad to make your acquaintance, and is always infused with the joyful spirit of the moment. Her signature move is to push her little gray face into your hands with hopeful anticipation that you’ll reciprocate with neck scratches and pets along her back. She sings the song of her people with chirpy meows. Purring isn’t something Jane does. It’s a state of being! Playtime is the best time for Jane. She’ll leap in the air for dangled ribbons, race around the room with fits of the zoomies, and loves to tackle her brothers and sisters. Ah, but when it’s time to rest, Jane always hopes you’ll make a space for her on your lap or chest.
Endless, boundless affection is the best way to describe our sweet Jane. Can you handle that much love? If so, apply to adopt our Jane Goodall today!
