Giselle was adopted on Tuesday, August 1, 2023!
Giselle, along with her mom and siblings, were rescued from Devore Shelter in October of 2016. She and her brother and sisters were only 7 weeks old at the time. At the time the little family was rescued, they’d all come down with URIs while at the shelter and required care and medication to restore them to health.
Unfortunately, Giselle developed a wariness of humans due to her early experience of being medicated. For this reason, she’s a bit people-shy. She will accept treats from humans – she’s absolutely crazy for Greenies – and she may allow herself to be pet occasionally. If she feels she’s not going to be disturbed, she might also stretch herself out along the foot of your bed. But… let’s just say that Giselle perfected the art of social distancing and the 6-foot-rule long before the pandemic hit. However, what she lacks in people-skills, she makes up for in feline sociability. She absolutely loves other cats and, over the years, has proven herself to be an amazing kitty companion with young and old cats alike. If there’s another kitty around, she’s happy to cuddle up and receive kisses and grooming. She makes an excellent friend for that kitty you don’t want to be alone all day long.
Giselle will never be an affectionate lap kitty but we still feel she’s more than deserving of a warm, loving, and comfortable home – preferably one where there’s another resident kitty she can befriend! Due to the fact she’s people-shy, we feel she needs a human or family who has experience with kitties who need a little extra special handling. If Giselle sounds like the perfect kitty for you, don’t hesitate to fill out an adoption application for her today!
