Dori Dawn was adopted on Sunday, April 7, 2024!
Dori Dawn patiently waited for someone to visit the shelter to rescue or adopt her. In all honesty, her predicament baffled her. She had no idea how, at three years old, she wound up in a tiny kennel in the cat room at Devore Animal Shelter in December 2023. To make things worse, she caught a cold from one of the other kitties and wasn’t feeling her best. What she wanted more than anything else was to stretch out on a comfy couch in a warm house while someone gently petted her. That, she thought, would be a grand way to start the new year. And, as luck would have it, Dori Dawn got her wish! Kitty Devore Rescue whisked her away to a wonderful foster home on December 30, the last rescue day of the year.
Although she spent the first couple of weeks of 2024 recovering from her kitty cold, it wasn’t long before Dori felt right as rain. She quickly discovered that her new space was safe, and the people were kind, so she felt comfortable letting her true personality shine despite being shy with new people in new surroundings. Dori loves people once she gets to know them and is also fond of being in the company of other cats. Dori occasionally displays a touch of sass, but overall, she’s very amiable and playful. She loves nothing more than cuddling up at night next to people she trusts and letting them know she loves them.
